I wanted something to jump out at people or out of a coffin by using a hydraulic system. If you have any ideas on how I could build something like this, that would be great!
It would be easier to make the prop with a pneumatic (air-powered) system. This way, you don’t need to worry about making a closed system or about bleeding the system. You either need a pump and some kind of storage for the compressed air, or a bottle of compressed gas.
A lot of things can be used to make a pump and storage bottle, for a small prop, something like a car pump and a large coke bottle, or for bigger things, a motorized compressor and a larger tank.
Alternatively, you could use a bottle of compressed gas like CO2 or helium. Depending how big the prop is, you could use something like a BB gun cartridge, a small bottle of helium that you can get in a kit with balloons, or a bigger bottle like the ones used in pubs. If you do this, you’ll also need a regulator as the bottles run a very high pressure, and you also need to be sure that you’re not running the piston at too high pressure. Get someone who knows what they’re doing to help you.
Finally, you need a piston, a controlling valve, and all the pipework and fittings. When plumbing it all up, the valve will just send air from the supply of compressed air to one of the two inputs on the piston. Make sure that air can vent from the unused input on the piston, otherwise nothing will happen.
My husband and I are thinking about throwing a Halloween party. Halloween falls on Saturday this year, so we would like to have the party on Halloween. We were wondering what time we should have the party? It will be primarily an adult party. We thought we should start it later (8:30-midnight maybe?) since trick-or-treaters will be out but we weren’t sure. What does everyone think?
So, a lot of people are going to be having parties on that night, so you might not get the crowd you want, and to have the people who have children able to come you could have it friday night or the week before. I’ve done that and had excellent turnout then I get to go out on halloween. 8-8:30 is a good time b/c the sun is down and all that halloweeny stuff can come out, but if you want to really avoid trick or treaters have it a different night. Don’t forget about older kids who want to vandalize on that night too, and all the cars parked outside your house…
I’ve always had an alcoholic punch with gummy worms, given goody bags with candy and adult things that are fun, play games after everyone has had their fair share to drink and watch them make goofs of themselves is fun too. Then of course lots of music and alcohol, definately jello shooters, maybe orange and grape with some whipped cream. Hope that helps
Hi all, I have a Halloween party on Friday October 29, 2010 at home and need some good ideas. The age group of 13-17 is the good boy, but there will be adults, so you need all was fun! I really need some good ideas such as food, Shopping, games, competitions. Never a Halloween party, so I have no idea .. Lol please help me! I have ten days! Thanks for the concern very young teens and preteens, but preteens are just going to be my brother and sisters of my younger friends. Lol
pre-teen first mix of 13-15) with today's teens (16-17) is not a good idea and most teens do not seem to be effective it is. I just thought I'd warn you. But it would very fun to have a costume contest and special treatment for the winner and a basket of products (such as candy, cookies, etc..) Love apples and never gets old. Stories ghosts are so funny! Make & smores! (If you have a domain, you can set a fire …) Make sure you have fun music, each of all ages love barbecue, you should grill the chicken or not, something like hot dogs and hamburgers would work. I muffins, brownies and jelly cups available. Drink wise, soft drinks and water and maybe bright apple juice! Well decorated with a lot of lights or taking sides and lamps! I hope you have fun!
